I keep reading that SMEs risk falling behind if they don’t adopt AI in 2025–2026...Is this really true or is this hype exaggerated?

It’s partly hype, but there is a real underlying point. SMEs don’t need to adopt AI everywhere or chase every new tool, but ignoring it completely can be risky, especially where competitors are using it to save time, reduce costs, or improve services. The risk isn’t "AI itself", but missing efficiency gains that others are quietly building into their workflows.

Exaggerated...AI adoption can improve efficiency and competitiveness, but SMEs shouldn’t adopt it blindly , only where it solves real problems and builds on solid digital foundations. Thoughtless AI investment won’t keep you ahead.
