I feel that we will be left behind if we dont use AI tools in our everyday activities as a company. What's better I wonder, to upskill our staff on AI or find outside to consultants to help us? Has anyone else dealt with this issue, and if so, how did you go about it?

Hey! Honestly, it’s rarely an either/or situation. What usually works best is a mix of upskilling your staff and bringing in external consultants where it makes sense.

Upskilling your team is a great long-term move. Even giving everyone basic AI know-how (what tools can do, where they’re useful and their limits) makes it easier to actually use AI in daily work instead of treating it as “extra.” It also builds internal capacity and reduces the need to lean on outsiders constantly.

Consultants can be really useful too, especially at the beginning. They can help you figure out which AI use cases make sense, run pilots, or set up frameworks. The trick is to use them as enablers, helping your team get up to speed, rather than doing everything for you.

A practical way to do this might be:

  • start with some awareness and basic training for your staff;

  • bring in consultants for strategy and early implementation;

  • gradually let internal teams take over, maybe with a few “AI champions” leading the way.

This way, you keep moving forward without falling behind; AI actually becomes part of how your company works, not just something added on from the outside.
